Hans withdrew two-fifths of his savings from the bank. He then spent $240 of it on books and had a quarter of it left. How much savings did he have in the bank at first?

Hint: Model; work with 2 units first. From the 2 units, try to get a quarter. Split the 2 units...

Ans: $800.
